質問:
Jitter measurement is important but needs to be measured at different frequency spans (low+ mid+ and high). How can you do this with the WFM601M?
回答:
The WFM601M has two jitter measurement readouts. The first measures wide band jitter (10 Hz to 5 MHz). The second readout measures high-passed jitter, with settings of 10 Hz, 1 kHz, 10kHz, and 100 kHz. With proper use of the filters you can separate the low and high frequency jitters. This is the method the telecommunications industry has used for years and is the basis for jitter measurement via SMPTE RP184.
The WFM601M also passes the demodulated jitter out through a rear BNC. This can be attached to a low frequency spectrum analyzer, an oscilloscope using an FFT function or a VM700T with audio option, which allows you to inspect specific jitter frequency terms.
