If someone buys a MDO3000 with option R5 and after one year enables SA and AFG. Does the warranty option R5 apply to SA and AFG or do they have to purchase R5 for SA/AFG separately? 

If someone buys a MDO3000 with option R5 and after one year enables SA and AFG. Does the warranty option R5 apply to SA and AFG or do they have to purchase R5 for SA/AFG separately? 

Yes, all extended Service options, including R5, cover the specific MDO3000 instrument for which the option was purchased. Like product warranty, Service options are linked to a specific model and serial number.  Product warranty and extended Service options cover all applications and bandwidth upgrades purchased and enabled on the same instrument after the original purchase.  After market purchase of additional instrument applications will not extend the length of the original product warranty or extended service option. I.e. if you purchase the application two years after the instrument purchase, the MDO3000 instrument will still only have one year product warranty remaining, plus the two years if you purchased R5 resulting in 3 years of remaining warranty.
