How often should I compensate the instrument and how do I do it?

問題:

How often should I compensate the instrument and how do I do it?

答案:

The compensation menu is located under the Utilities/Compensation menu. After first installing a sampling module or after moving a sampling module from one compartment to another, you should run compensation from the Utilities menu to ensure the instrument meets its specifications. You must also run compensation whenever the extender configuration is changed from that present at the last compensation. In short, if you install or remove an 80E00 extender, run compensation. If you exchange an extender for one of a different length, run compensation.

In this instrument, the basic concept of compensation pertains to the process of characterizing (and subsequently correcting for) various DC inaccuracies caused by temperature variations.

There are two nonvolatile compensation memory areas in the mainframe and for each channel within a sampling module, referred to as Factory and User compensation memories. Additionally, there is a volatile, in-use memory version of all compensation data, referred to as the run-time compensation memory, that holds the compensation data that is actually used during operation of the instrument. On power-on, the instrument automatically retrieves the compensation data stored in the nonvolatile User memories into the volatile run-time memory version.
