For RF design engineers, validation and verification engineers, or radar and EW systems engineers working on wideband radar systems, satellite communications systems, and other high-bandwidth RF systems, pre-compensation improves signal fidelity and minimizes signal degradation. By correcting for effects and imperfections that a signal can suffer as it goes through upconverters, connectors and cables, pre-compensation increases design confidence, isolates undesirable system behaviors, enables troubleshooting of system performance, and improves test quality.
See pre-compensation being applied to a signal generated by a Tektronix AWG5200 Arbitrary Waveform Generator and received by a 6 Series B MSO Mixed Signal Oscilloscope.
