Tektronix Design for Environment – European Union RoHS 2 and amendment 2015/863 (EU)

Tektronix is dedicated to meeting its environmental regulatory obligations through a corporate-wide initiative working in partnership with industry consortia. We strive to reduce the environmental footprint of our products and processes while ensuring our high standards of product quality, reliability and safety remain steadfast. Tektronix recognizes the importance of the European Union (EU) Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS 2). Tektronix products are generally classified as Category 9 Industrial Monitoring and Control Instruments as defined in Annex I and Article 3(24) of the RoHS Recast Directive 2011/65/EU.

Tektronix has transitioned our legacy products to RoHS 2 as amended by 2015/863 (EU). New products are engineered to comply with this directive. Our manufacturing processes, and those of our partner contract manufacturers, have been transitioned to lead-free soldering using components that can handle the higher processing temperature requirements. With these changes, we have verified that product performance specifications and long-term reliability expectations remain unchanged.
