Motor designers typically measure direct-quadrature-zero (dq0) using custom built embedded control software together with hardware having an FPGA for Field Oriented Control (FOC). This session introduces an alternative method that avoids the complexity and expense typically required, such as accessing probing points on the controller board and using mechanical sensors to enable the computation of torque and speed values, and to get mechanical power and system/overall efficiency.
