Question :
Where are the controls for Roll Mode displays in my 5 and 6 Series MSO?
Réponses :
Roll Mode provides an instant display response when the oscilloscope is operating at very slow sweep speeds. Without it, the acquisition must complete before the display will update. With Horizontal Scale factors as slow as 1000 s/div, that can be a long wait.
Roll Mode was first introduced on the 5 Series MSO with firmware version 1.4, so you will need to be sure that the instrument has version ≥1.4 installed. The Firmware Version appears near the top of the Help->About menu.
Unlike most other oscilloscopes, the 5 and 6 Series MSO Roll Mode display can roll analog, math, and digital signals, as well as decoded bus waveforms!
Roll Mode is automatically enabled at Horizontal Scale factors of 40 ms/div and slower when running in Auto Trigger mode or in Single / Seq acquisition mode. (To provide a lively display, the record length is limited to 1 Mpoints when rolling.)
Roll Mode is disabled when running in Normal Trigger mode. This can be selected with the front panel Trigger Mode button or the Trigger Mode control on the MODE & HOLDOFF panel of the Trigger configuration menu.
