Andy Kirby, Applications Engineer, shows how the DMM7510 Graphical Sampling Digital Multimeter can capture the current drain in all the states of an IoT product from the low power sleep mode to the full power transmit mode, load current burst. Using the DMM7510’s high speed, high resolution, digitizing capability, Andy captures a profile of the load current and uses cursors to determine an average drain current. This average current can be used to assess battery life based on the capacity of the battery that will power the IoT device.
