Question :
What is the difference between “Trigger out” and “Sync out”?
Answer :
Trigger and Sync Out are almost the same. They are only different in the burst mode, in inifinte-cycle mode.
Figure 1: Trigger out mode
Scope CH1 ->AFGCH1
Scope CH2 ->AFGTrigger out
Scope CH3 ->AFGTrigger in(with T connector)
In this case a Trigger out signal will happen every cycle. For frequencies higher than 5 MHz Trigger out will not happen every cycle but will be in sync with the output waveform.
Figure 2: Sync out mode
Scope CH1 ->AFGCH1
Scope CH2 ->AFGSync out
Scope CH3 ->AFGTrigger in(with T connector)
The Sync out is only one pulse. The Sync mode is used for creating a Master-Slave setup with two AFG products.
