What are the default channel colors on an oscilloscope?

Question :

What are the default channel colors on an oscilloscope?

Answer :

Recent Tektronix oscilloscopes, including the 2/3/4/5 and 6 Series, use a shared default color palette for channel waveforms, they are:

Channel 1: Yellow
Channel 2: Cyan
Channel 3: Red
Channel 4 :Green
Channel 5: Orange
Channel 6: Blue
Channel 7: Magenta
Channel 8: Mint

Can the channel colors be changed?

Yes, the channel waveform colors, along with math and reference waveform colors, can be changed via the Utility Menu > User Preferences... > Define Custom Colors.

There are 48 colors from which to choose. There are no restrictions on assigning colors. You can assign different colors to different waveforms, or the same color to many waveforms. Changing a waveform color automatically changes all indicators that use that waveform's color (channel handles, vertical scale readout, signal badges, measurement badges, front-panel control LED colors, and so on). Waveform color settings are saved as part of waveform, setup, and session save actions.
