How to make a Resistivity Measurement using the 8009 and 6517B in Alt-Polarity Mode
Answer :
1) Connect interlock, Source Voltage HI and LO, and triax meter cables between 6517B back panel and 8009 test fixture.
2) Determine type of resistivity measurement (surface or volume) and use selector switch on 8009.
3) To set resistivity measurement on the 6517B front panel:
a) Press CONFIG, let go.
b) Press R, let go.
c) Press right arrow key through menu to MEAS-TYPE. Press Enter, let go.
d) Press right arrow key to RESISTIVITY until blinking. Press Enter, let go.
e) Select Corresponding Measurement type (SURFACE or VOLUME). Press Enter, let go.
f) Select Thickness. Press Enter, let go.
i) Enter thickness value of DUT (use RANGE UP and Down arrows to change value).
ii) Press Enter, let go.
g) Key right to FIXTURE-MODEL
i) Select Model:
(1) 8009 – Press Enter, let go.
(2) USER – Input user specific parameters. Press Enter, let go.
h) Press Exit until returned to default display.
4) To set Alternate-Polarity (Alt-Pol) measurement sequence:
a) Press CONFIG, let go.
b) Press SEQ, let go.
c) Select Applications. Press Enter, let go.
d) Press right arrow key to R/RESISTIVITY. Press Enter, let go.
e) Press arrow key right to ALT-POLARITY. Press Enter, let go.
f) Set offset using arrow keys and range keys. Press Enter, let go.
g) Set V-ALT (operational voltage). Press Enter, let go.
h) Set MEAS-T (measurement time). Press Enter, let go.
i) Set DISCARD readings. Press Enter, let go.
j) Set Store readings. Press Enter, let go.
k) Press Exit until returned to default display.
5) To begin sequence measurement:
a) Press SEQ and follow displayed prompts:
i) Press Enter, let go.
ii) Press TRIG, let go.
