This video looks at how to minimize power losses at the component level and optimize the overall efficiency of a power system. The primary causes of power loss in a power system are the power switches and magnetics. Using the power software available on the 4 series mixed domain oscilloscope along with other key tools such as the AFG31000 arbitrary function generator, the TCP0030A current probe and TMDP0200 differential probe, you can easily isolate and troubleshoot switching and magnetic losses in your power device designs. Having the right set up makes it easy to debug issues at every line and load level and enables you to test every critical measurement at the same time. Watch the first video in this series "How to Measure Converter and Inverter Power Efficiency" to learn how to create the best test environment for testing and measuring power quality.
