How do I enhance the performance of the 8000 series?

While the 8000 Series instruments provide the highest acquisition rates of any ultra-high performance oscilloscope available today, this performance can be enhanced by observing the following recommendations:

• For the highest data acquisition rate, set the Record Length to its maximum value, using the RESOLUTION knob on the front panel.
• Minimize the use of "slow" commands - commands which change the whole state of the instruments, such as Reset, Recall Settings, Autoset.
• In earlier versions of the SW the Database mode slowed down the acquisition speed. This is no longer the case, the impact of the Database mode and of the display of the Database on the speed of the instrument is minimal.
• Minimize the use of "low" commands - commands which change the whole state of the instruments, such as Reset, Recall Settings, Autoset.
