 What’s the longest USB 3.0 cable I can use with the RSA306?

The instrument ships with a 1M USB 3.0 cable.  If a longer cable is needed, purchase a high quality cable.  The RSA306 is powered by the USB 3.0 cable, and draws about 800 milliamps when operating.  Lower quality cables may have higher resistance, and the voltage drop that results may cause the unit to be unable to operate.

We have the RSA306 work with the “Amazon Basics” 9 foot USB cable on several laptops wtih USB 3.0 ports.

Note: Some laptops may not have a robust enough USB power supply so operating beyond a 1 M USB 3.0 cable may be difficult.
