How do the 7038 cards perform when configured as a 1 X 16 multiplexer?

Question :

How do the 7038 cards perform when configured as a 1 X 16 multiplexer?

Answer :

The 7038 card was specifically designed to allow flexible configurations. When using two 7038 cards to form a 1x16 multiplexer, the overall performance of the multiplexer does decline somewhat - relative to a simple 1x4 multiplexer. In particular, the insertion loss and VSWR increases. However, the insertion loss remains within the specifications of a single card while the VSWR only exceeds specification at frequencies near 2GHz.
