Question :
Can you control the WFM700 using the REMOTE port?
Answer :
The WFM700 series is primarily designed to be remotely controlled via its web user interface and SNMP commands over Ethernet. The remote port on the back of the WFM700 is used for reporting alarms and recalling presets. In order to recall a preset using the remote port, you first must enable the remote control port in the communications submenu of the configuration menu. Once this is done, you simply need to apply the correct voltage to the correct combination of pins to recall one of the presets 36-42. Pin 1 on the remote port provides a logical low voltage and pin 2 provides a logical high voltage. By connecting these two pins to a combination of pins 3, 4 and 7 you can recall various presets; the codes to apply for each preset are given on page 2-127 of the WFM700 Technical Reference and in a summary below:
Preset | Pin 3 | Pin 4 | Pin 7 |
-- | 0 | 0 | 0 |
36 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
37 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
38 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
39 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
40 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
41 | 0 | 1 | 1 |
42 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
