Waveform Pre-Compensation

When generating wideband signals, minor impedance discontinuities in the interconnect cables can affect the amplitude and phase flatness. Additionally, as signal frequencies increase, they can be subject to the analog bandwidth and roll-off characteristics of the AWG. To help you improve the fidelity of your generated waveforms, Tektronix AWGs correct these signal impairments by pre-distorting, or pre-compensating the waveform data to counteract the degradation. Achieve excellent frequency flatness right at the interface of your device under test with the pre-compensation plug-in for Tektronix AWGs.

Building a multiple emitter RF signal environment made easy

Thumbnail

In recent years, proposals have been made for communication systems to operate in radar bands, closing the proximity of Radar and RF signal environments. Tektronix has put together a specific waveform creation plugin for current Arbitrary Waveform Generators that enables engineers to create specific RF environments for many specific applications.

Supported applications include simulating/emulating any real world wireless scenarios/environments for EW monitoring, radar receivers with interference signals and Phased Array Antennae and MIMO.

Features of the new environment plugin include:

  • The ability to create multiple scenarios and assign to different AWG channels in one compile. Users can create up to 50 Scenarios.
  • Scenarios are made up of individual RF Emitters signals and users can define up to 100 Emitters per Scenario

Engineering through complexity

Thumbnail

When engineering the world's most complex systems, the ability to create ideal, distorted and "real life" signals is essential. Generating advanced radar signals demands exceptional performance from an AWG in terms of sample rate, dynamic range, and memory. Advanced communication systems, such as coherent optical and PAM4, require reliable, easy to set up and high performing tool sets for optical testing, waveform generation and calibration. Electronic warfare systems require complex, stress testing with advanced capabilities to synthesize digitally modulated baseband, IF and RF/microwave signals through a wide range of modulation schemes in a timely manner is essential. Advanced electronic and physics applications like quantum computing need to create clean, stable waveforms to reduce the time to iterate through designs and experiment costs to make breakthroughs happen.
